We stopped asking permission to create years ago.

we simply follow our curiosity and invite other people along for the adventure.

Celeste Violet
Writer.
Artist.
Designer.
Radio host.
Songwriter.
Professional collector of impossible ideas.
The sort of person who sees stories hiding inside forgotten mixtapes, old recipe cards, abandoned radio towers,and strange little doors.
Mickey Fingers
Producer.
Engineer.
Writer.
Musician.
The calm center of beautifully chaotic projects.
The guy who can hear a finished record hiding inside a rough demo and somehow makes impossible ideas sound completely natural.
Together...
we've spent the last several years building something that refuses to stay inside one box.
Every project eventually spills into another.
A song becomes a story.
A story becomes artwork.
Artwork becomes a radio show.
A radio show inspires a recipe.
A recipe somehow turns into a mascot.
We stopped trying to separate them.
Turns out...
they were always part of the same universe.
Collaboration Over Competition
No one builds a universe alone.
While most of the worlds beneath the Velvet Umbrella are created by Celeste and Mickey, we're incredibly grateful for the collaborators who've wandered beside us over the years.
Some join us for an album.
Some help shape a radio show.
Some lend a voice, an instrument, an illustration, or simply encouragement at exactly the right moment.
Every project gives credit where credit belongs.
Because collaboration isn't ownership.
It's trust.
Gala Violet
Gala Violet is currently entering a new chapter.
Charlotte has moved on to new adventures.
Isabelle and Silent Mike recently married (which still makes us smile every time we think about it), and are enjoying this season of life together.
These days, Gala Violet is primarily driven by Celeste Violet and Mickey Fingers, with occasional collaborations from friends and longtime musical companions like Collin.
